Without doubt the City of Bath is my favourite place in England. It is 38 miles,
which is approximately 60 kilometres, away from where I live. So I can go there as
often as I like. It takes about an hour by car but I like to take the train, which
takes about 45 minutes. Using the train has several benefits, the main one being
I can relax and fully enjoy the journey. Other benefits are I don’t have to drive
around looking for somewhere to park the car and of course I don’t have to pay car-
Bath is always full of foreign visitors and it is not hard to see why once you have actually been there. There is so much to see that is pleasing to the eye. The Georgian architecture is amongst some of the best in the country and I never tire of walking around just looking at it. In the town centre there is the famous Medieval Abbey and across from the Abbey is the Roman Baths. Just behind the Abbey is the Parade Gardens and in front of the gardens is the river Avon. It is from here one gets the best view of the world famous Pulteney Bridge and shops that span the river.
Shopping is also good in Bath because you seem to get shops there that you simply do not find in other Cities. High fashion is normal but so are the more unusual items of clothing and Jewellery. One of my favourite places to shop is the area around the Corridor and Northumberland Place. However there is so much more to see than just this small area of shops.
If in the future you intend to come to the UK I do hope that you will be able to find the time to visit Bath. I would be very surprised if Bath disappointed you in any way.
